Eydís Kvaran is a composer, songwriter and string instrumentalist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Her work weaves together mystery and narrative, often through improvisational methods. Her style fuses contemporary classic, avant garde and folk music.

Eydís has played in bands such as Ólafur Kram (2018-) and Turturi (2024-), the former won the Icelandic competition Músíktilraunir in 2021. From 2019-2022 Eydís was a member of Icelandic artist collective Post-dreifing, an organization built to platform independent artists. Projects include the music-festival Hátíðni, concert series Smá í tánna and collective albums Drullumall. since 2022 Eydís has performed solo with instruments such as the Halldorophone and Proto-langspil in collaboration with Intelligent Instruments Lab (IIL).

In 2025 Eydís graduated from Iceland University of the Arts with a Master in Music, where she had composed an improvised soundtrack and a film to accompany it, creating a musically dominant film score. With a background in film and music, Eydís’ work lies in the relationship between the visual and musical, especially within storytelling and narrative technique. Through her passion for string instruments, she has collected a wide catalogue of sounds and techniques through improvisation, stretching the extremities of musical storytelling.
